Clive was rushed to hospital again last night and I have been there all night with him, just got in. Same trouble and it's serious and he nearly died this time. He has now been told that should he continue to smoke with this severe Pulmonary disease he has got the infection will come back and he may not be so lucky next time. This news has hit him hard and shaken him up. He is still in hospital and expected to be there for a few days. On top of all this the coughing burst his hernia back open again.
Worrying times.
Love
Marlene

Thank you Ernie
This is what Clive has got as well as an infection on the chest, 3 stents for his heart and now another hernia due to the coughing:

Sad to hear the news. Just keep nagging him and don't take no for an answer. He will thank you in the fulness of time. Meanwhile just try to stay on top of things and keep yourself busy. Thinking of you.

Hi Robbie
It put a smile on Clive's face chatting to you tonight. Wish you and Joyce lived nearer. Maybe you can visit sometime.
To everyone
Thanks for your support for Clive. He is coughing a lot but that is part of the healing process now he isn't smoking. He isn't very strong but he was determined to do it. He went out to the car and into his 'hiding place' for the cigs and destroyed every last one of them. He didn't even want to give them away he is that disgusted with them and what they have done to him.
So I am going to believe in him because I know he wants to live and his days are numbered for sure if he goes back to them. The attacks will get worse and more often and next time he may be alone and not near an oxygen tank.
I too am trying to address my overweight problem and togther we have high hopes of meeting everyone in Königslutter next year.
By the way, I went to Asda shopping yesterday and bought a bottle of Jägermeister made in Wolfenbüttel. It tasted lovely. Cheered me up it did!

Hi Marlene, It goes without saying that this is a very difficult time for you, backwards and forwards to hospital, the strain and worry will be making things hard for you. We are all thinking of you, and if it's not too much, do keep us up to date with how Clive is doing. All the best. Dave T. _________________ Dave Thomas 2 Sqn 13 SR, '63-'66 |
