BNP.........................

Thought that I just might provoke a few comments on the disgusting performance by the BBC on last weeks Question Time.  No matter what your thoughts on Nick Griffen, I thought he was a brave bloke to be wheeled in front of what was a handpicked lynch mob.  We are led to believe that this country of ours has approx. 10% ethnics.  Well if that audience had only ten percent ethnics I'll stand stuffing!  It was supposed to be a cross section of the British people of today.  I think not!  If mine host had been strong enough and fair enough to question him on the policies of his party we may have had a fair debate!  We could have even agreed with them as over a million people agreed with them at the last local and MEP elections, or are those million people swivil-eyed, knuckle dragging little Englanders portrayed by the three main parties?  Again, I think not. Back to the BBC.  When I first went to Germany it was just over ten years since the end of WW2 and I know for a fact, many Germans listened to the Overseas BBC to get a true take on the worlds situation.  No longer true as the BBC is now run by a bunch of money grabbing lefties who wouldn't survive in a private company.
Going back to the actual evening I see that 'rent a mob' were all in full flow outside.  Wearing masks and injuring Police Officers all in the protest at the BNP.  In my opinion these people are just as much scum as the 'alledged' racist Party they are protesting about.  A Party that I remind you are a fully recognised political party in this country.  So much for 'rent a mobs' democratic attitude!

Although I abhor the BNP and all it stands for I must agree with you Brian that the whole show was an affront to what little democracy we have left in this country. I saw the hatred that Mosely and his blackshirts aroused in the east end of London in the early fifties, we seem to have learnt little or no lessons in the last 50 years.
The whole format of "Question Time" and the imparciality of its selected audience was changed for the occasion and the BBC and Dimbleby should be ashamed of their part in what was the public humiliation of the leader and spokesman of a "bone fide" political party that received over two million votes in the last European elections, will the leader of any other party be treated the same in any future "Question Time", I think not.

I will be following this forum with interest over the next few days because I think that it is important that we old'uns, the silent majority who have seen a bit of life, show that the time for political apathy has passed and that all should get involved in being proud of our country again.

Brian, the subject is perhaps slightly taboo and our forum members are loathe to get involved with what is a purely subjective topic.
Mebe we should adhere to the unwritten rule of keeping away from politics and religion.

Sorry Ernie......................

Sorry Ernie, but I can't believe that you wrote that.  Whats the point in having an open Forum when before you even put pen to paper, some subjects are taboo?  Your statement means that if we cannot discuss ANY subject then we are truly in the cart in this so called democracy of ours.  I would have thought that at our stage of the game we could have an open debate on any subject on earth without upsetting peoples finer feelings, or is this site subject to the oversee by our goverments 'thought police' or PC Brigade?
Politics and religion eh?  I don't remember any unwritten rules on this site but could I add another?  Please no chat regarding my football team, Grimsby Town FC, as a season ticket holder it may upset my finer feelings.  Also a member of this site is/used to be, a card carrying member of the BNP but I consider him my friend, that fact will never alter no matter what his political leanings are!!!

As you say, Brian, this is an open forum, and therein lies the problem, in that anybody can and does read what is in it.

Journos, left-wing sh!t-stirrers or whoever could take your post and use it out of context as evidence that we Langeleben-ites are all BNP sympathisers.

It's not censorship, just take care what you say when posting comments on sensitive subjects.

Ok Paul, Your challenge should you choose to accept it is:-

"post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws"

All in one post and under 100 words.

Your time starts now.

All the best. Dave

Taking Ernie's earlier point, I wonder under which heading the BNP might fall? Religion or Politics?
All the best.

This topic has no place on this Forum.

Wow.......................

Well on that imperious command I'll say no more on the subject but with that attitude I can now see why this site is only used by a few of the many members that we have..........................!!
