If you're looking this evening look to the NW at an altitude of about 35 degrees. If you're an early riser (0400 onwards) look to the SSW. Use your Scout training to identify the constellation of Perseus, and look for the brightest star in that group. My eyes are too poor to see it unaided, but I had a great view through 10x50 binoculars. Couldn't make out much of a tail: more like a large fuzzy blob. Clear skies!
PS: You could also try the "Heavens Above" website, which has a helpful map of that bit of the sky.

They do sometimes! Like the great comet of 1882 (though I wasn't around then to see it). This morning (0430) it was roughly due west, high up.
