Making History dot com

By the looks of it, we've probably exhusted Beverly Boys, so I can safely start somethig new. A few of you old timers might have had your hearing aids switched on and caught the Radio 4 programme at the end of last week. They were in Norfolk talking about Pill Boxes with their associated slit trenches; apparently although there are still lots of boxes littering the countryside, very few of them still have their trenches intact. The programme makers are asking people, particularly ones who used them, had them on their land, or (and this is where our members may be able to help) played in them soon after the war. Rather like we did for Pauls history homework, they want any stories, tall or short, long or short, facts or otherwise; anything which may contribute to the very sketchy bits of information they have at the moment.
All the best. Dave

Good idea Dave.
Our's around here have been mapped pretty well for some time now. I was slightly involve in looking for the lines of defence that were built ready to protect Aldershot. When you start looking it is quite amazing.
The only problem with the pill boxes is that they stink appallingly.
