Marlene's birthday ThursdaySSShhhh. It's Marlene's birthday on Thursday and she is a bit down about it as it's her last as a 50 something poor lass. So I thought the old girl could do with a boost so how about we raise a glass to a little NAAFI girl I met 40 years ago in Langeleben and who still makes the best cup of tea I know of anywhere I've been?
No one say anything though, I want it to be a surprise, just hope she doesn't come on here and blow it all.
If anyone deserves it, it's my Lili Marlene who I met underneath the lampost by the barrack gates 40 years ago.
OK Mc Callum and Mason, call me a softie but she deserves it.

Marlenes Birthday ThursdayGood morning Marlene, let me be one of the first in congratulating you on you reaching the age of maturity and wish you a very Happy Birthday.
Age is a state of mind as you know, also relative to your lifespan, if you are 59 and are going to live to 100 then you are young, If you are 59 and your life ends at 65 then you are old. What I am trying to say is to expect longevity and enjoy all that life brings. All that you experience in life if it doesn't kill you then you have learnt from it.
Have a stunning day for the sun is shining.

Well Marlene!
I hope this is a surprise and that you will enjoy it, if only to offset the horror of getting 'nearly old'.
Enjoy the Day

Thank youTo all who wished me well for my last '50 something' birthday on Thursday, my thanks, Thanks to to my sweetie for posting up the message. He bought me a nice wooden garden bench to rest my weary old bones on, he said he's going to put a placard on it, I said "I'm not dead yet!"
I chose to have a normal day as Thursdays we look after little Max who as you know is waiting for a new heart and I couldn't think of one thing more I could ask for than to have my menfolk around me. Friday we all went out for lunch then for a little drive.
One thing happened on Thursday which has made us mad. Max's other grandad is sailing to the Azores alone in his Yacht to raise money and awareness for Little Hearts Matter, a charity that helps babies and children like Max. His wife had collected some money ( most did it online I am glad to say) but the cash was stolen when someone broke in to the house. They should be ashamed of themselves, poor old George in his late sixties at sea facing all sorts and they did that. they must have known as well as there were sponsor forms there as well, they didn't take anything else.
Here is the route he is on (scroll down as he is being tracked by satellite), I see he went a 'skewif' last night again, he did that the night before and headed off towards Spain. I guess the man has to sleep.

Anyway, thanks again everyone.
Clive is coming along nicely. still very breathless, the cough is clearing a lot, still not smoking, I doubt he ever will again. He is now on a 3 days week which helps.
Love
Marlene
