oops..hicHi everone
Young Clive went out and got me a treat today. some Polish vodka 40 proof and it is lubbly jubbly. He knows how to treat a lady.
I am rather partial to a nice Schnapps myself but you can never get it in England unless they water it down and add peach or apple flavour to it..what is that all about? My Opa would turn in his grave. I need to get me back to Deutschland to get me a drop of the good stuff.
Mind you this Polish stuff is slipping down a treat while I write to you and himself is watching the footie on BBC.
Funny thing tonight. We were sat in the garden as we often do looking at the stars and chatting and we saw a kind of light sweep the sky over and over. I said it was Batman being paged to do his good deed but it was odd. We just watched as it went over and over in the sky 'sweeping' the sky. By heck this Polish vodka is good stuff..

Hi Marlene,
Try looking at the stars without the vodka and see if you get the same effect.

Oops-HicMarlene, I remember we used to think that some of the Russian Operators had been on the Vodka as their morse was 'slurred' as though they had been on the 'hard stuff'. It affects different people in different ways. Cheers, Keith (1955)
P.s. I daren't drink rum as the last time I did, was at Lageleben in 1955, when I drank a glass in one, for a bet. I won the bet but did not come round for 24 hours and have not touched it since.

Re: Oops-HicHi Keith
That reminds me of the time I had my wisdom teeth out in Wolfenbüttel and that night, after not eating for several days, I had SEVEN Babysham and brandies in the Langeleben NAAFI and passed out. Ray Irving carried me to my billet (poor lad) as my legs wouldn't work.
Next morning even the famous Underberg wouldn't work on my hangover!

To cater for the influx of polish people in Slough various shops are opening to sell 'home grown',if you want the real polish vodka go shopping in the Farnham rd in Slough.Even Lidl cannot stand the competition from the half dozen shops there.Long distance lorry driving in Poland means Slough and back!!

I remember the time only too well. We really thought that you were a 'gonner' for quite a time and were scared stiff for you and ourselves
