Our "Landlord" has died

I see that the Officer, after whom the "new" Langeleben Camp was named, has died aged 91. RIP General Anderson.

Our "Landlord" has died

Yo JR, Never been afraid to prove my self a Pillock, so here goes. I have not heard the name associated, to the best of my knowledge with Langeleben. Please elucidate, what is New Langeleben, was that when the 225 Mob invaded? I know of him from FANY, DON'T EVEN THINK OF IT! I do not, however, know of hs connection with Langeleben, treat me kindly and don't have me made a laughing stock

Yet another who has not read and learnt by heart my "History of Langeleben" (price 1/6, from irreputable booksellers, under the counter):

Quote:
Perhaps the highlight of the 1960s as far as the inmates were concerned was the building of long- overdue modern accommodation. When the 'New Camp' was built in 1963-4, 2 Squadron, 13 Signal Regiment were in occupation of what must have been the showpiece barracks of BAOR. .......The camp also acquired a name , that of "Anderson Barracks" after the then Signal Officer in Chief, Major-General Anderson. However, although this name appears in official documents, the camp, as before and after has always just been referred to as 'LANGELEBEN CAMP' or just plain 'Langeleben'!

I've lost my copy. Have you got change for half a crown?

Our Landlord etc

JR, I am 'umbled and chastened. I will save up my pennies and by a copy, alternatively, how much for a signed copy? I take it a compliment that you assumed I could read, I still have difficulty with big words but the 'Togs' Janet and John books are working wonders.
On a serious note, I don't think my local disreputable bookshop will have a copy, not unless it is entitled 'JR Does Langeleben', or '50 Ways to erect a Bellinitossi', so what reputable outlets is this missive available from?
