I am working on a PowerPoint presentation to back up a (light-hearted!) talk on my National Service experiences. Can anyone direct me to a download of an audio clip of any military-sounding radio traffic, morse or voice, just to give people a taste of what we listened to? Thanks in anticipation.

I must confess to a slight feeling of perturbation at the presence of 'light-hearted' and 'National Service' in the same sentence but never mind. (Not something that I expected with the confessions of a Master Spy the 'Reilly of the 50's', to be honest).
I came across a website when researching for the RSS and V.I's story and it had a wonderful background of morse that would be ideal for your purpose but damned if I can find it now. There is a meeting of the Y Service chaps tomorrow at Chicksands and I will ask around. It would be rather good to have something like that on the Sigint display anyway plus some voice op stuff in Russian. Any volunteers?????

I thought I would have another trawl through the internet by myself, and unearthed the Conet Project, which was orignally (according to Wikipedia) a set of CDs of recordings of “numbers stations”, radio stations of uncertain origin believed to be operated by government intelligence agencies. The Conet Project website offers a whole lot of clips, including several of a male Russian voice reading strings of numbers. Strength and quality were about the same as we encountered at Langeleben. I even managed to get a complete series down after all these years! Didn’t come across any morse.
