Sadly departed Roger, sorely missed Alas alack,Roger is no more,it has all but gone from comms networks where the word meant all was understood, indeed Roger often went 'out' after that.
The response to a transmission of information on police nets today is often 'yes yes',and when passing information the response to complete receipt is 'understood',or during the passing of details the sender often equires,'so far?' the response comes back 'so far' .
NOW is the time to stand up and be counted,if you post on this site or are just many of our 'readers',as ex signals wallas you know what it is like to be rogered and how it feels to be understood, lets return to the days of roger and out or even roger and over.
Get in touch with yer local MP and tell them to stop this rot and they can have the two cdroms back with all the names on,where will it end.Soon we will have N for nuts and P for polly and A for andy,or no phonetic alphabet at all,no fife or niner!!!!

Re: Sadly departed Roger, sorely missedI can honestly say that in my whole time in Langeleben I did not know what it was like to be rogered.

As far as I am aware I do not recall having uttered a single "Roger" in peace or in anger except to my cousin, but that was his name after all.
Pray, tell me of what to complain and the name of my MP and I am all your's, keyboard at the ready.
By the wayI t couldn't have been Marlene since how would a nice young lady like her know of such things?
I have loved watching those Tourists escaping from the vicious Antarctic seas, looked a bit like the Serpentine pond to me. Perhaps it was a publicity stunt. Extreme Sports for geriatrics. Come to Southsea and get some real waves. At least they will have something sensible to talk of.All my acquaintences (including young Stubbings who is addicted to this cruising lark) just seem to tell me "the food is wonderful, you can eat 24 hours a day". Bloody hell. Who on earth would want to do that? Sounds like life for a Norfolk turkey to me. I'd be bored stiff, come coffee time the first day.
Abandon ship all who enter.

What other end could a vessel come to in those waters than hit an iceberg(where did that come from),must have been a titanic one,and the ship registered in that centre of nautical excellence,MONROVIA,not London or Avonmouth.!!!!

Yes Paul it was indeed me and whichever way it was read, it was totally true. All and sundry thought that I was sure to come a-cropper in such a place..my dad was convinced I would be a headline in that well known newspaper The News of the World "Innocent Essex girl lives alone with 60 men on an army camp in the middle of nowhere - read all about it inside..." Meanwhile mum was knitting baby clothes (not really)...the only way I knew to be 100% of not returning home with a little 'souvenir' was so be a good girl. It is a tribute to the men there that I was treated with the utmost respect and far from being in danger I have never felt safer or more protected.
But then maybe I just just the most boring NAAFI girl on the planet ha ha.
No the relationship I had with everyone there was so special and I have said before, when I was leaving the whole camp had a huge party (glad to see the back of me ) and men on exercise were even allowed to come back in time for it. It was quite a night! Men like Robbie McCallum, Ron Mason, Bill Fry, Eddie Bellerby and many more including my lovely Gypo all made it a night to never forget. It was one of those pockets of time I would love to relive.

Hi Marlene,
The more you write the more I would like to meet you so you must come to a reunion sometime and of course you must bring Gypo.

Ha ha..you may be sorry you said that Tom. Last month we went up north to Clive's hometown of Kearsley, Bolton to surprise a friend of ours for his 50th birthday. If you are interested in seeing Clive and I as we are now, I did a birthday blog on youtube at the end of the weekend. It was a bit dark in the pub where I filmed it, but you can kind of tell what we are like from this. For some reason I seem to slip into a chameleon type personality and adapt a take off of Northern-speak as well as my own.
This video has had nearly 2000 views already.

Following your link, I saw my first blog. I had heard of them but never before looked at them. I think that I must have missed the point since I did not see one. It's a bit, it seems to me, like passing your holiday photos around a crowded underground train only the lights had fused.
I promise I am just asking for interest - why on earth do people look at them if they don't know you or do you actually know thousands of people
Yours

Hi Paul
I totally understand and I too was puzzled. I put the video up on a Saturday and went to bed and by morning I had over 1000 views. Maybe it was the heading 'bad boy Col....etc' perhaps the viewers were expecting something a bit racy. Nevertheless I got 4 Honors for it from youtube at the time, but have now had them stripped, ha ha...
I have over 50 videos on youtube and none of the others even came close to the views this one had.
