I will be posting this in 3 sections in the hope that some of you will respond so we can go ahead with our 'special.'
If you went to the reunion, we need YOU. It doesn't have to be an article, just a paragraph will do. We are taking the thanks to the organisers as read as repeated thanks in the newsletter while justified, doesn't make good reading, so what summed up the weekend for you? Who did you meet? Did you get a big surprise? Above all, to encourage readers who have never been to a reunion before, what are they missing? Remember this newsletter, thanks to our gracious buddies, will go to ALL members and even people who haven't joined yet so it's very important.
YOU are important. Your one paragraph may be the paragraph that moves someone to join or attend a reunion. You may not think so, but Ernie and I have seen it happen.
You don't even need to send a separate e-mail, I will be checking this thread.
You have thanked the committee and now you have an opportunity to go one step further by helping the organisers in stimulating interest for future reuinions.
Thanks already to Peter Baldwin, Ernie Callaghan, Paul Croxson and Neil Mapp for their contributions.

Marlene, I don't know if you have been following the talk about making 2011 a Charabanc outing to Konigslutter or not. I suggested that perhaps you could feel out the feeling through the newsletter. Dave's idea seems to be quite popular with a lot of people.

Hi Paul, re the Charabanc idea for the next German reunion, in view of the fact that Marlene has been asking members for relevent contributions for the August issue of the newsletter I would suggest that you pen your ideas for publication, Marlene is the Editor and it is not her responsibility to provide the copy, the contributions and copy should be supplied by the members, the job of the Editor is to design and make-up the pages and be the final arbitor on selection of copy.

As you know Ernie, I raised the Coach idea earlier and it was rejected and I think you (or another Committee member) said that it had been brought up before I had done so.
This time it is Dave bringing it up and so I've passed on your suggestion for him to write something.
By the way, if Marlene wants to write something outside her editing role surely she can and should!

Hi Guys, (Marlene is an honorary guy for this forum) I have been in touch with Jim Sloan the organiser of the Herforder charabanc trip and had a very fruitful discussion, they use a Scottish coach company; They have various pick up points and secure parking for cars at ferry terminals; Alex their driver is in Germany at the moment, and I’ve asked Jim to put us in touch on Alex’s return. I’ve also written to two coach firms outlining possible scenarios and await their reply. When I’ve got some solid information on which members can make suggestions I’ll come back to the forum and let you all know. I’ll also provide something for the Newsletter so the silent majority can see that we are not standing still.
All the best.
Dave

Of course Marlene must have the option of writing copy in her editorial but we want ideas and suggestions for general discussion to come from our members, the newsletter should be the voice and platform of the members by the members.
