Took his time to tell meHi everyone
Well I never. following Robbie McCallums latest entry in the guest book about Gypo and the battery shop and how his plimsolls are still there I thought I would quiz him as I never knew...I said "where was your billet then Clive" he says "right next door to yours, if I leaned out of my bedroom window I could see yours...Robbie was in that billet as well but he had his own room." "Why is that?" says I, "well, he was a lance corporal." I said, "well so was you" and Gypo says "well not for long, I had barely moved my stuff in before they took the stripe back off me and moved me out again."
It's a tough life in the army! Poor old Clive.
By the way Robbie, if you are reading this, Clive said you should have picked up those plimsolls mate, you're gonna need them to do some running if you are thinking of whisking his missus away to Langeleben without him...
He's all talk..look he tells me to tell you, can't do it himself...
