Wakey Wakey

I am sitting here, with a glass in my hand, my wife Brenda is still out at her friends, not knowing what to do, so I think I will see what my old mates are doing, nothing,  Come on you lot, give me something to talk to. It was more interesting walking back from Konigslutter at midnight, at least we had the boars for company, or if we were lucky, ?????? Although I was only a N.S, I must say I enjoyed my time at Langeleben and remember the times with fond memories. Even the I Corps were good mates when they paid their round. I suppose that is going to cost me at Loughborough.  Keith

What no reply, it is now 0150 and I am still all alone. no one to talk to. Who do I remember, Spud Murphy, Brian Cox, Harvey Grainger, David Hill, now I am struggling, remember the faces but not the names. Driver Robinson. Of course Capt Jim Prescott. Am going to bed. Keith

Sorry Mr Kirby Sir.
I have been off Watch but on the toilet for a day. Absolutely NOTHING left inside me so only now am I getting round to reading your notes.
To put the record straight, we I Corps and in particular, me, were known for our incredible generosity. In addition we were not at all fussy with whom we drank as long as it was in Schumanns upstairs.
"Mine's a red wine please"
Driver Robinson, now he was a character. Two years in Bielefeld for manslaughter had done nothing to improve his nature. Sober, he was just quiet - morose, but drunk he was a real terror and I literally hid many a time to avoid him.
No, it isn't too late to add anything.
There have been a number of comments following on from what people have read and we are adding these in to the History but in italics just to differentiate (that's a long word!)
Ron Berg  has submitted a long article which has brought back many a memory. He mentioned Ivor Whitton ( I Corps) who was a great mate - he came from Buckingham. I saw Ron's photo of the Munster guardroom on the Birgelen website and that brought back memories of my one and only guard there, being attacked by a drunken german and calling the Police who sorted him out very quickly and violently.
I should watch that Wife, by the way. Out on the tiles at that time of night. She should be in bed with her curlers in and a cup of cocoa.

Dear God Man, you call at 01:40 and expect sense, let alone a response. Nurse has been round the beds, dealt out the appropriates and is now watching something on Freeview. I can only say that I hope the glass kept getting refilled by the nubile 'Au pair' if not yourself.
The only name I know is Spud Murphy but then how many of them were there? Mine was at 225 Sigs, Scharfoldendorf and if you go onto their website, his photograph is on there but I doubut it is the one you mean. Bugger of to bed and let us non prostrate problems sleep (until wee need the loo)
