Paul. In Ernie's report he said I assume that everybody was satisfied with their accommodation.  Oddly enough no one stood up with their complaints.  Normally when it is an organized party the complainant usually takes it up with their organizer.  As for the keys they are the simplest thing for the simplest minded or do you require instructions attached.  I am very sorry that you were at odds with the arrangements at the Hotel.  Perhaps you would like to find different accommodation for yourself the next time.

I must confess that I had not realised that daring to criticise the hotel (NOT I stress the Committee) would produce such reactions.

Jim,
I will write this slowly so that you understand.
The lock was faulty hence the hotel staff being willing to re-programme it.
Having re-programmed it, the lock then worked.

Paul, we love you dearly but a great percentage of your 777 posts do seem to be on the slightly "whingy" side, we do admire controversy and individualism and even a little tongue in cheek but I would advise you not to go to Australia.

Hi, Hope you all had an enjoyable at Loughborough. I was most gutted to not be able to meet up with old comrades of 50+ years ago. Must ensure I make next years celebrations. I was in hospital for three days and had to make do with a pretty young nurse instructing me on how to insert a Catheter. I would have preferred to have been at Loughborough, I think. Good luck to all,  Keith

Oh dear, I really have incurred the wrath of the committee. Firstly Jim descends from the Olympian heights to berate me for not being able to work an unworkable lock and now Ernie is picking on me. "Wingeing" is the accusation to which I can only reply "rubbish". I have gone back through many hundreds of my postings - not the full 700 odd - and unless I do not know the meaning of whingeing the accusation is unjustified.
Yes I have dared criticise aspects of the hotel with total justification (which the committee have taken very personally) and I have pressed for the election of JR as Asst Sec to take responsibility for the Konigslutter gathering and for him to have a sub-committee to ensure that it is a very special occasion. Oh, and I did offer my services for this role.
This encroachment on to what is seen as the hallowed ground of the Committee is, I believe, central to the present problems.

I have never had any desire to go to Australia, thank you Ernie. With the current droughts there I reckon it won't be long before they start heading back here! Call me cynical but that WOULD be a laugh.
Before I forget, many of the postings were to do with the History which thanks to Gerry I am delighted is bringing funds in to the Memorial fund.

OK. Paul, Pax, Nuff said, let's close the Issue.

... and good to see Ernie's Latin still in use.
