Hi all
Just thought we would bring you up to speed with life at the Gypo's house!
Clive (aka Gypo) now definitely a committed non-smoker since the night he nearly died on May 1st. He has been diagnosed with COPD which is the 4th biggest killer in the world they say. If he has one more cigarette, that may be the one that will kill him as his airways are diseased from years of smoking. However the up-side is that he is looking good, not coughing much at all now and is able to work 3 days a week. He got his blue badge so can now park the car in lots of places he couldn't before. In fact his latest (sad) hobby is going on trips out and parking in all sorts of obscure places he is now allowed to park (ever the rebel.) On Monday a youn g nurse is coming here while I am at work to teach him how to breathe...hmmmm...
I am doing good, worn out through looking after a rebellious Gypo, a mum with Dementia and a tiny grandson with HLHS (half a functioning heart.) Joined Slimming World and am doing well on their plan.
It's not a bad life.
Odd, I had a vivid dream last night that I was re-visiting Langeleben NAAFI quarters and it was exactly the same as when we were there. It is hard to take in that it is now flattened and what is in our heads is no longer there. I close my eyes and I am back there in a flash. through the guardroom gates where Clive first saw me, then right a bit outside the NAAFI. A bit further on, the cookhouse then down the dip a bit to my billet.
Hope all of you are well.
Take care
Love
Marlene and himself
